MANILA, Philippines – The senior and junior teams of International Little League Association of Manila (IlLAM) posted victories at the Asia Pacific Little League Championship.

Grandmasters Eugene Torre and Joey Antonio Jr. renew their rivalry in a six-game series beginning July 21 at the Quezon City Hall and ending on Aug. 4 at the Gateway Mall of the Araneta Center.

Nonito DonaireLAS VEGAS – Fresh from inking a three-year contract with Top Rank, IBF flyweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr. said yesterday he’s ready to relinquish his crown for the chance to battle Mexican veteran Jorge (Travieso) Arce in a superflyweight title eliminator, tentatively on Sept. 13.

MANILA, Philippines – Efren "Bata" Reyes dominated Abudlatef Alfawal of Qatar, 9-0, in the second round of the Qatar International 9-Ball Open Championship being held at the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation in Al Muntazah Road in Doha, Qatar.

Reyes' triumph inspired his compatriots to do the same in the tournament which allotted $40,000 as its top prize, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines (BMPAP). More Reyes, 13 other Pinoys win Qatar 9-ball matches

 

Donaire faces winner of IBF eliminator
