For all the Filipinos in every corner or angles of the world, golfers or not, the day has come that we finally have someone to cheer for, to root for, and to be proud of. Born to a Filipino mother and to an Australian father, the 20yr old JASON DAY is the next big thing in the world of golf. Touted as one of the top rookies in 2008, Jason has won numerous amateur tournaments in Australia and regarded as the country's next in line as a golf great behind the likes of Greg Norman, Adam Scott, Geoff Ogilvy, Karrie Webb. Last year, he tore up the Nationwide Tour and actually won an event as a teenager and made impressive cuts in the PGA tour when given the tour exempt. Lets face it.....he is the only chance. Frankie Minoza is still good but too old. Juvic Pagunsan is not consistent enough. Gerald Rosales and Tony Lascuna can barely win in the Asian Tour. Jason Day's got the talent and the promise to be like his idol, Tiger Woods. This year, he will be playing full-time in the PGA. He had an OK 2 rounds and didn't make the cut in the Sony Open a couple of weeks ago but he will be ready for the Buick Invitational this week. There's so much buzz about this kid. You got ESPN mag talking about him, the Golf Digest, Golf World, Sports Illustrated.
He is destined to be the next Great Pinoy hope.
