Ramon del Rosario Jr. was named as one of Forbes Asia magazine’s first Heroes of Philanthropy list , "48 Asian Altruist" in 2008 for his campaign to raise $25 million for the Philippine Business for Social Progress' Pinoy Micro-Enterprise Social Investment Fund, which extends loans to poor families.
He is the President of Philippine Investment Management (PHINMA), Inc. and Bacnotan Consolidated Industries, Inc., two affiliated companies with investments in housing, education, energy, financial services and steel roofing. He is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AB Capital and Investment Corporation, a full-service investment bank and Chairman of Microtel Inns and Suites (Pilipinas), Inc.
He serves on the Boards of Directors of Ayala Land, Inc., Holcim, Roxas Holdings, Inc. and Bacnotan Consolidated Industries, which are listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange, and Nasdaq-listed PSi Technologies, Inc. He served previously as Chief Financial Officer of San Miguel Corporation and as director in Petron Corporation and Meralco. Mr. del Rosario served as the Philippines' Secretary of Finance under President Fidel V. Ramos from 1992 to 1993.
