| Technology Marries Great Talent |
|
Countless articles have been written about the amazing talent of Charice Pempengco and rightly so. Her mesmerizing performance in Korea's Star King show introduced her to the world. There are a lot of great talents in the Philippines but very few have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to showcase it on an international stage. Charice is very lucky, she is at a time when technology knows no boundaries. Who would have thought that a simple video clip of her singing posted next to Bianca Ryan, a rising young singer here in the US, would capture the interest of an Indie record company based in Sweden. She did not get the exposure that she rightfully deserves in the Philippines for reasons only the "showbiz-powers-that-be" understand but a great talent such as hers will never stay unnoticed. When the time is right, opportunity for greatness will always be revealed to deserving one's like Charice. Her's was the Star King show in Korea. She grabbed the chance and did what she does best..sing exceptionally well. Her Youtube clips had, at last count, 1.2 million views. It was featured on E!News, a hollywood celebrity news program, twice and gave her a guesting spot on the Ellen Degeneres show. Charice's story is a testimony to faith and perseverance. You can feel her emotions when she sings the songs "And I am TellinYou, I'm Not Going" and "Listen". She felt every word because those were her exact words to the world. She dreamed big and kept her focus with the able guidance of her family. To quote John W. Gardner,"Some people have greatness thrust upon them. Few have excellence thrust upon them. . They achieve it. They do not achieve it unwittingly by doing what comes naturally and they don't stumble into it in the course of amusing themselves. All excellence involves discipline and tenacity of purpose". She created her own stage, took advantage of what technology can offer and now she's on her way to realizing her dream. Melonor Quiachon California, U.S.A.
