Diane Monique Lhuillier is currently one of the famous names in the fashion industry. She is notably known for her exquisite wedding gowns. Her name became an instant Hollywood favorite after she designed the wedding gowns of Britney Spears for her wedding to Kevin Federline and Christine Baumgartner's for her wedding to Kevin Costner. She also designed the bridal dress of Sara G. Lee, the daughter of former VP Al Gore, during her marriage to Bill Lee.

She was born of French, Spanish/Filipino descent in 1971 to one of the prominent families in the Philippines. Her mother's strong sense of style influenced her greatly and her extensive travels with her family exposed her to the latest trends. Her most favored destinations were always Paris and LA.

She attended the prestigious Chateau Mont-Choisi boarding school in Lausanne, Switzerland. In Switzerland she found her calling. She wanted to become a designer. She moved to Los Angeles and attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) where she received a merit-based scholarship to attend the advanced program.

Monique met her husband Tom Bugbee in LA. She planned her wedding herself and during her search for the perfect dress, her interest in the wedding business was born.

Highlights:

1996 Monique launched her first bridal collection. It received rave reviews from magazine editors and well received by retailers.
2001 She received the Glamorous Bridal Designer Award
2002 Avant Garde Bridal Designer Award
2003 Designer of the Year Award from Wedding Dresses Magazine and the bridal industry members. She was also inducted as a new member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).
