CEBU CITY - With its successes in bridging the academe and the information technology (IT) sector in the province, the Cebu Educational Development Foundation for IT (CEDF-IT) has been asked to replicate its organizational principles in other regions in the country.
During the CEDF-IT 7th Annual General Membership meeting held at The Parklane Hotel, executive director Bonifacio Belen said the group has already started to conduct seminars for information and communications technology (ICT) councils in Iloilo, Bacolod and Laguna. DBP offers scholarship for aspiring nurses

MANILA, Philippines - In a bid to ensure an “adequate and continuing supply of trained and qualified professionals for domestic and overseas requirements," the Development Bank of the Philippines is providing a special scholarship program for indigent but qualified students who wish to work as nurses and seamen, Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye said Sunday.
Bunye in his column “View from the Palace" said the DBP Endowment for Education Program (DEEP) will initially focus on training of nurses who are in demand in the Philippines and abroad. More DBP offers scholarship for aspiring nurses

MANILA, Philippines - Two high school teams from the Mountain Province will receive two of the four top prizes of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Regional Schools Internet Project for 2007.

MANILA, Philippines - The Australian government announced the launched of the 2009 Australian Leadership Awards Scholarships Program which is open to 150 students from across the Asia-Pacific region including the Philippines.

DepEd firms up $31-M grant from AusAID for reform

The Department of Education (DepEd) has firmed up a $31-million financial grant commitment from the Australian Aid for International Development (AusAID) for policy reforms under its Basic Education Sector Reform Agenda (BESRA) program.
